Vietnam Video

The Vietnam war was the first televised war.

Vietnam was under the Ho Chie Men rule.

America was paying 80102140f the cost in the war.

The end for the Fremch lost at Dien Bien Fu and surrendered. It has the same effect on ths French as the Tet offensive did on the American.

August 16, 1964-Matix was destroyed- Tonkin Resolution...the ship ended up being a spy ship.

Johnson ordered a round the clock bombing of Vietnam. The bombed area was only about 70 miles From the Dong Bien Yung Airbase.
   
Saigon only  had an upper and  lower economix classrs ...no middle class.

During the 1967's almost half of all the soldiers that fought were brought in.

The vietcong were violent.
6 CBS Employes were beaten after they had been captured.

The boldest Vietcong move was at Huey City.

Chemical gas was used for defence at the embassy.

Vietnam oboe has 1 main road to Huey City.

Khe Sahn-Was supplied by air which ended up buy

45,000 were killed by the Viet Cong during the war.

Many American soldiers were becoming rebels and would even get high by smoking marijuana through a shotgun.

Well over 50& of the soldiers in Vietnam used marijuana.

The combats trrops had more insight into the war than anybody else.

The North Vietnamese were generally more successful because they were braver and stronger than the South Vietnamese.

There was great question as to if the Americans should go back and risk trying to help the prisoners escape.

“Men who are close to death, are close to each other”

The Americans were forced to attack areas with women and children that lived in the area.

More than 7 million tons of bombs were dropped on Indo-China during the Vietnam war. It was more than all of the bombs in World War 1.

More than 10,000 citizens were wounded or hospitalized during the first 3 months.

An estimated 100,000 Vietnams citizens were wounded during the war.

The Vietnamese had many people willing to kill themselves for the war.

1,300 Americans went missing.

Many prisoners were released.

Vietnamese president “CHU” abandoned his country. Many Vietnamese wanted to board the American helicopters. American soldiers were left as they were able to to get off a plane to help other up, but not ablt to get back on due to maximum occupancy. People rode on the wheels, ladders, and cargo spaces of the plane. There were an additional 208 people inside th plane.

Over 1,500 people lines up outside of the embassy.
